Christmas Flower Arrangements | Holiday Flower Gifts

Sunday, November 1st, 2009

Christmas flower arrangements are gifts that can really brighten someone’s holiday season. They can also be a nice addition to the usual Christmas decorations like Christmas trees and ornaments. You can use Christmas flowers as a centerpiece and make your home or office look festive.

After giving my mom a Halloween flower arrangement which delightfully surprised her, the following Christmas I decided to make her a Christmas flower arrangement. I thought it would be a wonderful idea for another project that my little daughter and I can do for the holidays.

So I first visited my favorite local florist to see what kinds of selections they had on Christmas flower arrangements just to get some ideas. They had plenty of holiday flower gifts in a variety of arrangements and colors. They included the most common and traditional fresh flowers like poinsettias, hollies with red berries, and Christmas cactuses (or is it cacti? sorry, I’m often confused hehe!) as well as Christmas roses and silk flowers that are also kind of popular.

Then I also went online to look at several images of Christmas flower arrangements and bouquets. Yes, there are plenty. You can do a search yourself and see those beautiful pictures of holiday flower gifts.

Although artificial or Christmas silk flower arrangements look nice, I’m all about fresh stuff. Yeah, I know fresh flowers won’t last forever but still I view it as something from mother nature herself. The true colors and textures of real flowers just can’t be beat. They make precious holiday gifts for someone you love. That’s why I decided to go with a fresh Christmas flower arrangement.

So I bought some red poinsettias and other fresh flowers in colors that matched my mom’s living room. I also included hollies with green leaves and red berries. My little girl and I went to work arranging the flowers and we really had fun. The product was gorgeous, and made us proud of ourselves. We brought it to my mom’s house just a few days before Christmas, and she couldn’t contain herself when she saw the beautiful Christmas flower arrangement.

Holiday flower gifts are pretty easy to make, and they’re not really that expensive either should you decide not to make them yourself. So this holiday season why not give someone you care about a Christmas flower arrangement instead of the usual boring presents? I’m sure you will bring the holiday cheers into their home.
