Indoor tabletop fountains are quite popular nowadays. Besides the decorative
aspect, they also create a sense of peace and tranquility. So you can imagine
how beneficial it is to have one in your home or office. Whenever you need
to relax and take your mind off the stresses of the day, just divert your
attention to the table top fountain for a few minutes and experience the
calming and soothing effects.
I have loved water fountains since I was a kid. I thought they were the
coolest thing in the world.
There was a large water fountain in the center of the town we lived in,
and I was always excited when we drove by it, especially at night with all
the colorful lights.
I really liked the one at the zoo of two bears
holding each other dancing, and the one at the art museum of a cherub.
Whenever I went on vacation I always cherished being near the lighted
indoor water fountain
in the hotel lobby.
Therefore, I was thrilled when I first heard about indoor tabletop fountains.
I could have a water fountain in my very own room. How cool is that!
I actually discovered indoor tabletop water fountains quite by chance. I was
shopping in a drug store when I saw a table top fountain with a glowing plastic light at
the center on display by the counter. At the time I thought it was the
most beautiful thing, although the design appeared quite plain compared to
the really artistic and intricate ones today. I knew then that I had to
have tabletop fountains of my own.
However, to my dismay, I learned those indoor table top fountains were quite
expensive and I didn't have extra money to spend. In addition, my parents
thought it would be a frivolous purchase. They said if I liked tabletop
fountains so much perhaps I should make them myself, thinking that it
would discourage me. However, I wound up doing exactly that! :) Although I
was fascinated and mystified by how indoor tabletop fountains worked, I later
discovered that it's actually very simple. All you need is a pump, a
reservoir, and a source of power. The rest is just decoration, so to
speak.
Being rather ingenious and dexterous, I decided to give it a try making
my own table top water fountains. I made my very first one out of clay. You see,
I loved the clay when I was little because it was very easy to work with.
I especially enjoyed making animal figurines out of it. My mom would give
me a special kind that could be baked in the oven. I managed to complete
my first two indoor tabletop fountains rather quickly. They weren't bad for my
first attempt :)
As I became more confident, I decided to just take my time and use
more care in order to create better quality table top water fountains.
Later I also started to incorporate other materials like bronze and bamboo
to create exotic looking fountains. I only had money
for a couple of table top fountain pumps, so I had to find the best designs to use them in. I
was so proud of my own creations, and so were my parents. They were amazed
how beautiful the indoor table top fountains I built looked and suggested I sell
some of them and make money. So I kept a couple that I liked most for
myself (one of them was a bamboo fountain) and sold the rest.
Over the years I have built many indoor table top fountains and to this day I'm
still doing it as a hobby. Who would have guessed? True passions never
die. It's so important to have a creative outlet, and I'm glad to have
mine. This hobby will
never get old for me. How about you? Do you have a passion that you can
pursue and create income on the side?
There are plenty of gorgeous looking indoor tabletop fountains out there.
If you're into Feng Shui you can find some beautiful indoor bamboo
fountains. If you
can afford them, great. Otherwise, if you have the interest and skill
like I do, why not try to create some of your own?
