Consider Halloween gift baskets this year just to create
something different for the autumn festivities. You can buy these artistic
arrangements already assembled or you can make your own. Children and
adults alike will just love this unique craft.
Some people assume that a Halloween gift basket would be a huge
creation requiring a lot of work like similar arrangements that are
commonly used for presents and special occasions.
Well, you can make yours as elaborate or as simple as you like.
Halloween gift baskets can also come in all sorts of sizes.
You can make tiny ones for the neighborhood trick-or-treaters or you
can make that big display for a special family.
Last year I made small
traditional Halloween gift baskets with spooky treats and candies for the
visiting neighborhood kids and oh, were they thrilled! I could see their
faces shine and their little eyes glow as I placed the tiny baskets in
their hands. It made them feel extra special.
There's a family whom I have become very close to over the years who
does not celebrate Halloween. They usually spend the night together at
home playing games or they may go out to see a family movie. However,
their daughters occasionally would feel that they were missing out on the
festivities when they watched other children have fun receiving cool treats as they scurried from house to house
wearing scary costumes and masks. Therefore, I
decided to make special Halloween gift baskets for these kids.
This project had to be approached very carefully because of the parents'
opposition to many of the Halloween themes. Instead of
constructing Halloween gift baskets in black and orange, I decided to use
red and white. I chose these colors for a specific theme.
Rather than making formal Halloween gift baskets filled with the usual
stuff like jack-o-lanterns, ghosts, witches, and spiders, I made night-out-at-the-movies
baskets. I included some popcorn balls arranged in movie theatre popcorn
holders, and added some of their favorite sodas as well as
other movie theater treats. Under all of the treats were nice, comfortable
fall pajamas for each of the girls.
The kids were really thrilled with the night-out-at-the-movies theme and they
seemed to forget all about missing dress up for the holiday when they
found their pajamas. I also made sure to include a fun movie in the
Halloween gift baskets as well. That way they could stay home and still
have a swell time.
Not everyone celebrates every holiday. I have made many Halloween gift
baskets over the years of all shapes and sizes. The baskets I put together
for this family's children, although different, were just as fun to make and I had a great opportunity to share a
little bit of holiday spirit without them celebrating the holiday. I was
just glad that I could do something a little extra special for a
special family.
If the idea of giving out Halloween gift baskets appeals to you, you
should give it a try. Let your creativity guide you to come up with some
great ideas. If you need some help, just do a search on the internet for
"Halloween gift basket" since
there are plenty of resources available. If you don't feel like doing all
the work yourself, no problem! There are quite a number of web sites that
offer ready made arrangements, and many of them are quite impressive.
