Cheap Christmas Gift Ideas

Monday, November 17th, 2008

Buying a cheap Christmas gift is probably in many people’s minds this year due to the tough economic condition. Some of my friends are even thinking about taking a few people off their lists, especially those they’re not very close to and didn’t show very much appreciation last year. I’m sure you know what I mean :) I was even contemplating the same.

However, I did a little brainstorming and came up with a number of ways to find a cheap Christmas gift that are unique enough and are suitable to everyone. That way I won’t have to eliminate anyone from my list :)

You can actually find plenty of cheap Christmas gift ideas but you may need to put in a bit of time and energy. Also, please understand that “cheap” doesn’t necessarily equal low quality. So, why not apply some holiday spirit into those cheap Christmas gift ideas, and you may be receiving lots of hugs and kisses to warm your heart this Christmas :)

Homemade gifts are my favorite cheap Christmas gift idea. You can choose from a variety of homemade Christmas gifts such as food gift baskets, crafts, and other items for the house. Most folks appreciate homemade gifts since the giver put some thought into creating those gifts with the recipient in mind. And this is an important thing to remember when trying to find a cheap Christmas gift idea.

For example, if you know a friend who loves fudge, cookies or cakes, then you should run with that idea. Fudge and candy are very inexpensive and you can wrap them in festive cellophane or boxes tied with ribbon, creating yummy treats for the entire family. That certainly is a wonderful yet cheap Christmas gift idea.

Making a cake is another great cheap Christmas gift that can be just as delightful as fudge and candy. First you need to find out your recipient’s favorite flavor and go with that. Then add some creative decorating flair to it, and it will sure receive a lot of smiles.

I know not everyone enjoys cooking or preparing food. Well, don’t despair. There are many other cheap Christmas gift ideas to choose from. Just visit your local craft store and get tons of ideas for making a cheap Christmas gift. For instance, you can make beautiful candles with candle holders at a low cost, as well as small wreathes, pot holders, or knit a variety of items.

Knitting something heartfelt for a friend or relative is a great way to show your creativity and love for them at the same time. And again, it makes a wonderful and unique, yet cheap Christmas gift. Last year I knitted a few scarves for some family members and close friends, and they were thrilled to receive them. Knitting all those scarves simply cost me the price of the yarns, and I managed to make 3 for less than $10.00. Talk about inexpensive Christmas gifts!

Creating a coupon book is yet another cheap Christmas gift idea. You can include coupons not only for physical goods but also services such as babysitting, house cleaning, car wash, massages, etc.

As you can see, finding cheap Christmas gifts is not really that hard. Just put your imagination to work and do some searching (even online) and you’re sure to come up with a few unique, inexpensive Christmas gift ideas that will please many people and won’t break your wallet.

Aromatherapy Gifts | Aromatherapy Products

Monday, July 7th, 2008

aromatherapy giftsAromatherapy gifts and products such as oils, first used nearly 6,000 years ago by the ancient Egyptians, are still coveted for their soothing and medicinal properties. Aromatherapy gift products contain powerful essential oils that have several therapeutic benefits for the body. They not only help to improve physical health but also appear to enhance psychological and emotional aspects of our health.

Aromatherapy gifts are a thoughtful way of helping someone to relax after going through a tough situation by encouraging them to take a few minutes to unwind. The sense of smell is strongly tied to memory and this powerful sense can help a person restore their sense of calmness and tranquility after tense hours at work or elsewhere.

Finding the right present for certain occasions may not be easy especially if the person is under a great deal of stress or grief. If you know someone who could use a thoughtful token of your esteem to help get their mind off of stress or an unpleasant situation, consider adding aromatherapy gifts to your shopping list.

One of the most popular fragrances for relaxation is lavender. Because of its relaxing qualities it’s a well-received fragrance, and an important ingredient in many aromatherapy gifts. Vanilla is often added to the lavender fragrance for an extra-special effect. The vanilla is a traditional scent that is closely related to memories of growing up. To many folks vanilla creates a homey feeling. This scent mixed with lavender is a new classic among aromatherapy gifts.

A friend of mine once related the following experience…

“I love the lavender and vanilla mixture because I received it as a gift from a good friend years ago. I had just lost a loved one who was ill for quite some time. The hospital visits, the care, and the funeral greatly exhausted me to say the least. I was so grateful that a special person thought of aromatherapy gifts as an option for someone going through the grieving process.

She included a simple note of sympathy for my loss and an added message of kindness suggesting that I relax and remember the good times, which I did. The aromatherapy gifts included lavender and vanilla scented candles, some bubble bath and after-bath lotion along with lavender and vanilla linen spray.

I took time to relax in the bath and for the first time in months, I felt my muscles release and the tension melt away. The scent from the aromatherapy gifts lingered on my sheets and pillow case as I fell asleep that night. It was my first restful night’s sleep in a long time.

Although the aromatherapy gifts did not stop the grief, they made the process easier. I really appreciate my special friend who reminded me of the importance of taking a little time to relax and remember. I recommend aromatherapy products to anyone who needs a good relaxing memory or two, and will add aromatherapy gifts to my list.”

OK, enough of sadness and stress. We need to keep our vibration high! So, how about some pleasant scents for your home? Who said that the only time you can get that homey, warm smell of apple pies, the kind of smell you remember from childhood, is if you learn how to bake? Aromatherapy gifts can now create that smell and all other smells in your home without having to cook or bake anything!

If you really want to make it even more special, why not get an aromatherapy gift basket for that special someone? There are selections suitable for all occasion. What better gift to give than pleasant scents and cheers?

The following are a few aromatherapy gifts which will give you some ideas.

  • 3 vials of essential oils: lavender, sweet orange, and grapefruit. These oils are equipped with oil dropper as well as a porcelain warmer intended for healing and releasing aroma.
